As a ratepayer, resident or interested party, you are invited to make a submission on the Westland District Council proposed Dangerous, Affected and Insanitary Buildings Policy 2026. 

The purpose of the Policy is to ensure that buildings within the Westland District do not present an unacceptable risk to public health and safety because they are dangerous, affected or insanitary.

This process provides an opportunity for people to have their say on the proposed policy. 

Copies of the Policy are available here, at the Council Office 36 Weld Street Hokitika. 

Written submissions close on 2nd October 2026 at 5pm.
