Vaccine passes no longer required at Council facilities
As of Tuesday 5 April, all Westland District Council managed facilities will be accessible without a Vaccine Pass.
“Customers and visitors to our premises will still be required to adhere to the Covid-19 Protection Framework Traffic Light System,” says Chief Executive Simon Bastion. “We expect everyone to continue wearing masks, sanitising and social distancing. This will help us to maintain continuity of services. Our approach has worked so far and there has not been as much disruption in Westland as some other areas, so we’d like to keep it that way.
As long as we have the staff to keep services open we will, however the opening hours at our facilities may change without notice due to staff absences. As well as Covid-19, the cold and flu season will soon be here and we require our staff to stay home if they have any symptoms of illness to protect others in our facilities.
We know that there will still be customers who remain cautious about being in public areas and all of our online and phone services remain available. Staff members are a phone call or click away.”
Westland District Council’s Customer Service Centre will continue to operate from 10am – 12pm and 2pm – 4pm, Monday to Friday. Council will review the operating hours at the end of April.
On Tuesday 5 April the Westland District Library will return to normal operating hours of: Monday – Friday 9.30am – 5.30pm; Saturday 10am – 4pm.
Vaccine passes will not be required at the Swimming Pool from Monday 4 April.
