Proposal to close streets to vehicular traffic

Christmas Parade 2025

Pursuant to the Transport (Vehicular Traffic Road Closure) Regulations 1965, notice is hereby given that for the purpose of Christmas Parade, the Westland District Council proposes to close the following street to ordinary vehicular traffic indicated hereunder.

Sewell Street – Between Gibson Quay and Stafford Street
Stafford Street – Between Sewell Street and  Revell Street
Revell Street – Between Stafford Street and Hamilton Street
Hamilton Street – Between Revell Street and Tancred Street
Tancred Street – Between Hamilton Street and Strafford Street
Weld Street – Between Sewell Street and Revell Street

Friday 12^th December 17:00 – 20:00.

During the proposed period of closure access will be provided in an emergency.

Any person objecting to the proposal is called upon to lodge their objection and the grounds thereof in writing before Friday 28th November 2025 at the office of the Westland District Council, 36 Weld Street, Hokitika.
