Hannah's Clearing

In this section

Hannah's Clearing is a small township of approximately 30 houses located about 20 kilometres south of Haast and was established in 1962 to house workers at the Carters Sawmill which operated nearby.

Today many of the properties have been purchased as holiday homes by people wanting to take advantage of the fantastic hunting, fishing and scenery located close at hand.

The Haast Area Primary School is located in the township and services a region as remote as anywhere in New Zealand.
